Basic Astrology Lesson: Johnny Depp Birth Chart - video

Although astrologer Maia Lakewood is previously unfamiliar to me I have run across her series of YouTube videos in which she shares basic chart readings using celebrity horoscopes that have an accurate birth time. Here Maia gives a basic reading of the natal chart and planets of actor Johnny Depp who is something of an enigma and this makes his natal chart quite an intriguing study.

You'll notice that Mr. Depp's Ascending sign of Leo, the entertainer and showman, works compatibly with his Sun sign of Gemini, the communicator who can also play the actor, trickster, and magician. Add his Capricorn Moon for ambition and you see his usual serious expression of dignity when on camera. He doesn't allow many smiles to show in public, does he?

However, what he does show by years of living abroad is an Aries Jupiter strong in its own 9th house of Foreign Lands. Usually jolly, generous Jupiter in Mars-ruled Aries can be reckless and hot-headed. Add to this the obstacles created by quarreling issues in relationships (current wife Amber Heard filed for divorce in May 2016, last I read), I would look to the squares between Sun and Pluto (willful with a destructive streak) and Mercury and Mars (opinionated and fault-finding). Yes, a difficult upbringing seems very likely but self-awareness is the key. Happy wife, happy life, after all.

Now as you know, Astrology is a complex system of symbols and universal concepts--a language and a lens through which we novices attempt to understand the Cosmos and the events and conditions upon Earth. Plus, its study provides an excellent lens through which we may Know Ourselves, and it's the only system for self-knowledge that adds the element of Time and this can be useful information when we're wondering, when will this *?!^%*! be over?
